Vice Chair
Mary Lou has been a Kitsap County resident for over 51 years and a member of Kitsap Credit Union since 1955. She has been a member of the Credit Union’s Board of Directors since 1996.
She has served on the following committees during her tenure: Nominating, Personnel Policies, Investment, Lending and Major Procurement as well as the Board Advisor to the Supervisory Committee. She has also served as Secretary, Vice Chair and Board Chair.
Mary Lou has more than 51 years of experience in business and finance with an emphasis on the credit industry. She served as Assistant Treasurer/Manager of the NAVMAR Federal Credit Union on Guam for three years. That credit union grew from $500,000 to $2.5 million in assets during her term.
Mary Lou was Business Manager for two local car dealers for 22 years. She is currently employed in the accounting office for Haselwood Auto Group.
Mary Lou holds four certificates issued by the Washington Credit Union League for completion of Volunteer Achievement Programs. She is currently attending Olympic College working towards a Business and Accounting Degree.
She has written articles for various credit publications and has been very active in a number of trade associations including serving as President of Credit Professionals International. She was honored by her peers in May of 2004 with the Helen Sawyers Award for Excellence in Leadership.
Mary Lou is proud of Kitsap Credit Unions’ strong community presence and its expansion to new areas. She is happy to see the Credit Union continue its emphasis on financial literacy for local students and adults alike.
Her goal is to assist in protecting member assets and to maintain fiscal responsibility and managed growth.
