Wendie Johnson

Chair



Wendie has been a resident of Kitsap County since 1988. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University and a Masters Certificate in Legal Studies from the University of San Diego. Her present position is Controller for a local multi-specialty medical group. Wendie is a Certified Public Accountant with a public accounting background, working for a large national firm, where she practiced in both tax and auditing, with an auditing emphasis in health care. Wendie has also served as litigation paralegal at two highly recognized Seattle law firms.

Wendie has a strong commitment to local outreach and believes in supporting local community outreach programs. Wendie and her family enjoy volunteering for several local organizations to aid individuals in our community. She is a founding member of the Willow Charitable Foundation, supporting homeless causes locally and across the nation. The Foundation has made substantial gifts in the community to support homeless teens and families. The Organization was born out of the book “Breakfast at Sally’s” by a Bremerton author.

Wendie has been a member of Kitsap Credit Union since 1990. She has an intrinsic connection to the philosophy of a not-for-profit financial cooperative working in partnership with its members toward their goals and the betterment of the local community.

Wendie began her volunteer service at Kitsap Credit Union as a Supervisory Committee member in 1997. In 2003, Wendie was selected to fill a vacancy on the KCU Board of Directors. She has served as an officer of the board for several years and has had numerous committee responsibilities which included Chairing the Compensation/Review Committee.
