We have received reports of a Phishing scam where an unknown person or persons have sent email messages to individuals and companies under the name of NACHA, the Electronic Payments Association, including the subject line “Rejected ACH Transaction.”
The email message warns that an ACH transaction (electronic payment or deposit), recently initiated from your bank account, was rejected by the Electronic Payments Association. The e-mail includes a link that, if clicked, redirects the email recipient to a fake web page that appears to be a NACHA website which is almost certainly an executable virus with malware. Do not click on the link. Both the e-mail and the related Web site are fraudulent. See sample below:
