Identity Theft Prevention

Despite your best efforts to manage the flow of your personal information or to keep it to yourself, skilled thieves are using a variety of methods – low and high tech, to gain access to your personal data. This class enlightens participants to how their information may be compromised, how to better protect themselves from becoming a victim, and how to recover if they do fall prey to an identity thief.
Course Incentive: Upon completion of each course, participants are eligible to establish a Budget Saver Certificate. They select a 6, 12 or 18 month certificate with only a $100 minimum balance to open and receive a 0.25%APY bonus over the current posted dividend rate. Participants each receive a course completion certificate and a Budget Saver Certificate Voucher, valid for 60 days, following their class.
Classes are held monthly at various Kitsap Credit Union branches. Group classes may also be scheduled and held at your place of business.

Solving The Mystery of Credit Reports

Credit Reports and credit scores are increasingly important to people’s lives. This class helps participants understand the reporting and scoring process, their consumer rights and how to maintain and protect a strong credit history and good credit score. Participants learn what’s included in the credit report and used to determine their credit scores.

This class helps articipants in three areas of good money management. It will examine the forces that shape their shopping decisions and help them become smarter consumers. It addresses a variety of steps that can be taken to help people master their finances. Participants will learn how to create a well-designed budget to help them reach their goals and achieve true financial independence, without having to sacrifice all of life’s pleasures.
