Here at Kitsap Credit Union, we believe in supporting local businesses year-round but with the holidays in full swing, shopping and eating local is more important than ever. This Saturday, November 30 is Small Business Saturday and we're gearing up for it by featuring local businesses all week long.
Meet The Flower Box, owned by three best friends who met in daycare in Kingston, Washington— this brick and mortar in the town they grew up in is their dream come to life. The Flower Box is your one-stop-shop for floral offerings and special gifts with a variety of bouquets and arrangements to candles and chocolates.
Owners Tay, Ash, and Jordan have backgrounds in floral design and weddings, and their online portfolio showcases beautiful arrangements, so you know that your floral needs will be well taken care of. Plus, The Flower Box uses local farms and growers often in order to help sustain the community and "bring the freshest, most beautiful blooms to your homes."
When asked what it's like to be a small business in the community, Taylor Rychener aka "Tay" Co-Owner of The Flower Box said, "It's special! The support our community has for its small businesses is special! In a town where everyone knows everyone, it's nice to have a place we can serve the community through beautiful floristry!"
Celebrating local businesses through days like Small Business Saturday is important for many reasons including economic growth, job support, and more. When asked what Small Business Saturday meant to them, Tay said, "You've heard it a million times, but when a small business receives an order or a purchase, we really do a happy dance! Your dollars stay in the community and help support our families with things like dance classes, going to Montessori, and attending art classes."
