Kitsap Credit Union Welcomes Two New Board Members

Kitsap Credit Union recently welcomed Vasuma Sargent, CPA, and Matthew Ellsworth as new Board of Directors. Both were recently elected after a search by DDJ Myers, the well-known leadersip development firm that offers a broad range of solutions to help clients optimize their greatest assets – their people.

“I was drawn to this position by Kitsap Credit Union’s mission to serve. The credit union is dedicated to the prosperity of our communities and is driven to enhance financial well-being and quality of life,” says Sargent. “I’m looking forward to using my skills, insights, and experience as a certified public accountant to help Kitsap Credit Union continue advancing towards their goals and serving more members.”

Sargent is currently the Director of Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting for Weyerhaeuser in Seattle. Throughout her career, she’s served in various professional roles at KPMG, LLC, Connor Group, and BioLife Solutions, Inc. Sargent has also dedicated her time to several non-profit organizations, serving on the Boards of both Kirkland Arts Center in Kirkland, Washington and BRING CHANGE TO MIND in San Francisco, California.

“As someone who has long believed that credit unions are a vital component to meeting a community’s financial needs, I am excited to join the Board at Kitsap Credit Union. There is no doubt about the commitment of the Board and the leadership team to deliver a best-in-class experience for the membership and employees. I am grateful to be a part of that commitment,” says Ellsworth.

Ellsworth currently serves as Executive Director of the Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts. His professional experience includes serving in key staff positions for two U.S. senators, leading state and legislative lobbying efforts, and serving as a Government & Public Affairs manager for an association. Ellsworth has also been active on local boards and commissions. He currently serves on the Boards of both the Association of Washington Business and Love Heals. An avid supporter of live music, Ellsworth loves to travel with his wife Amy Ellsworth, PA-C, and spend time with his two adult daughters.
